GeologicAI has acquired Lumo Analytics

Acquisition Completes the Integration of GeologicAI Sensor Suite Accross Critical Minerals and Rare Earth Metals

Lumo Analytics, an innovative provider of compact, high-performance Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) scanners, yesterday announced that it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by GeologicAI, the global leader in High-Resolution Decision Engineering for the critical minerals sector.

From Lumo Analytics’ perspective, the acquisition represents a significant milestone in the company’s growth and its continued delivery of fast, accurate elemental and mineralogical analysis at the point of decision. Together with GeologicAI, Lumo Analytics sees an opportunity to better support the mining industry by combining complementary expertise and capabilities, enabling customers to benefit from more comprehensive data insights and improved decision-making over time.

“As demand for critical minerals continues to grow, access to high-resolution, real-time geological data is becoming essential to improving decision quality and reducing risk,” said Pekka Santasalo, Head of Growth & Ventures at Rio Tinto. “The combination of GeologicAI’s multi-sensor platform with Lumo Analytics’ LIBS technology represents an important step forward in how the industry can better understand complex ore bodies and make more informed resource decisions.”

Lumo Analytics confirms that there will be no disruption to existing customers, partners, or ongoing projects. All current products and services will continue to be supported, and the Lumo team will remain focused on advancing LIBS innovation as part of GeologicAI. Customers will benefit from enhanced long-term product development, expanded integration with complementary sensor technologies, and access to advanced decision-modeling solutions in the future.
