Meeting with Lumo Analytics team

Start with a demo project

We always begin collaborating with new customers with a demo project, in which we build a site-specific mineral library of your deposit using reference samples from your site.

During the demo project, all scanning parameters are defined and tested in cooperation with the customer.

How to get onboard?

Customer journey

Discover the capabilities of Lumo Scanner through a demo project, where you will see the precision and speed of LIBS scanning in action. Once the concept is proven, you can begin collecting data at your site.

Understanding your needs

Before starting, we seek to understand what kind of deposit you have and what your challenges are. We maintain a generic mineral library of over 150 minerals, and depending on your rock types, we can tailor this library to match your deposit. For more exotic mineralogy, we need some reference samples to be able to fine-tune the library for your site.

Demo project

A typical demo project involves scanning reference samples from various lithological units in your deposit, and from these, we build a site-specific mineral library.

Reviewing results

Once the site-specific adaptation of the mineral library is complete, we meet with the customer to assess whether the results are useful and can be used in day-to-day operations. Final adjustments to the library are made based on customer feedback.

Commissioning and training

If the demo project is successful and you decide to proceed, we will deliver the scanner to your site and train your operators. The scanner requires only brief training and minor maintenance to deliver consistent results.

Continuous scanning at your site

At the customer’s site, the scanning workflow is autonomous. The acquired data is delivered automatically to your platforms and databases. Our team continuously monitors device performance and data quality, and applies updates when needed.

Why do you need a demo project?

A demo project with Lumo Analytics is the fastest and most practical way to see how our drill core scanning solution can optimize your exploration and mining operations.

It is a short, straightforward way to discover how we can support and enhance your performance.

Drill core scanning project

What is a demo project?

During a demo project, we scan and analyze the samples you send us — typically drill cores and, if needed, reference samples.

Our goal is to deliver results quickly and with minimal effort from your side. You will see how effectively our analyses work for your specific deposit, whether in exploration or active mining.

Demo project workflow

The exact scope of a demo project depends on your deposit and needs.

If the minerals and elements of interest already exist in our generic library, you may only need to send drill cores. We can refine our models with simple inputs like a list of expected minerals or assay data.

If the deposit type is new to us, additional reference samples and data may be required. These help us identify unknown minerals and teach our classification model to recognize them.

Value of a demo project

At the end of the project, we organize a meeting where we present the results clearly and train your staff how to use it. Together, we review the classifications, and if needed, we adjust the model and reprocess the data. Finally, we deliver all results to you and guide you in integrating the data into your systems. This often leads to further discussions about providing continuous service.
